The Learning Resource Program (LRP) is designed to assist students who are diagnosed with a learning disability and need additional academic support in order to be successful in Bishop Kenny’s college preparatory learning environment. Students in this program will experience an intellectually stimulating and caring environment that will serve to maximize their personal and academic potential. Students will also learn to manage a mainstream classroom setting, employing the strategies developed in this program. In some cases, supportive services outside of school may be a necessary requirement.
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are accepted beginning in March 2026 through May 1, 2026. The following form must be completed by a parent/guardian, as well as the student, along with a copy of an Educational-Psychological evaluation completed within the last three years (dated January 2023 or later) by a licensed psychologist that indicates a diagnosis of a specific learning disability.
The LRP evaluation team will review all applications to determine appropriate student placement; acceptance decisions will be sent to the parent/guardian by the second week of May 2026. If accepted to the program, the student’s elective course will be changed to Applied Communication 1 in ninth grade and the world language course will be changed to Spanish 1.
Note: the student named below must be accepted for admission and enrolled for the upcoming school year before this program application is considered.
